Course Aim(s)

(1)To create and produce a Whānau Whenua Māhere/Plan that supports their dreams and aspirations for their whenua.

(2)To introduce and provide whānau with key contacts – Te Puni Kōkiri, Ministry of Primary Industries, local district council, Māori Land Court, Manaaki Landcare, Te Tumu Paeroa/Māori Trustee, LINZ, Kainga Ora and Kai Oranga – Grow your kai, in the context of land potential and development. 

Learning Outcome(s)

(LO1) To design and produce a Whānau Whenua Māhere (Whānau Land Development Plan) for a selected piece of whenua that you whakapapa to OR to a piece of whenua that you have an interest in and; to link to the appropriate Govt Depart(s) and/or entity for support.

(LO2) To familiarise and introduce whānau to the different Government Departments and entities that assist whānau in the development of their whenua.
